Drone Spraying and Cleaning

For Commercial, Rural, Residential Buildings, and more

Lichen and Algae Removal

New Zealand's humid, damp climate provides the perfect conditions for moss, mould, and lichen to grow on roofs. While often overlooked, these organisms can cause serious long-term damage to your roof if left untreated.

Agriviews offers safe, efficient drone-applied treatments that actively break down and remove moss, mould, and lichen, helping to protect and extend the life of your roof. Our slow-activating solutions continue working over time, and with regular preventative treatments, we help keep your roof looking clean, healthy, and free from harmful growth.

🌟 Building Washing & Roof Treatment — Why It Matters? 🌟

Q&A for Property Owners & Managers

  • A: Over time, moss, mould, lichen, and grime build up on exterior surfaces. Not only is this unsightly, but it can lead to long-term damage, reduce property value, and even cause leaks or structural issues if left untreated.

  • A: Absolutely. Regular soft washing and treatments like Wet & Forget help prevent deterioration, corrosion, and material breakdown — meaning you avoid costly repairs or premature replacements.

  • A: It’s both. While your building looks newer and better cared for, the treatment protects surfaces by creating a barrier against moisture, mould, and biological growth, helping roofs, cladding, and walls last longer.

  • A: It depends on exposure and location. Typically, a treatment every 12–24 months helps keep buildings looking sharp and prevents build-up before it starts causing damage.

  • A: Yes — drones use controlled, low-pressure applications, meaning no damage to delicate surfaces, no need for scaffolding, and no risk to workers climbing at heights.

  • A: No — we offer solutions for Historical, Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and Rural buildings, including homes, offices, retirement villages, farm structures and much more.

The average roof lifespan in New Zealand depends heavily on the roofing material and how well it's maintained. Here's a practical breakdown based on NZ conditions, including high UV exposure, coastal salt air, and moss/mold growth challenges:

Why Treat My Roof?

1. Prevent Structural Damage

Lichen and moss retain moisture, leading to rot, leaks, and weakened roofing materials.

2. Extend Roof Lifespan

Regular treatment prevents deterioration of shingles or tiles, prolonging your roof's life.

3. Improve Aesthetic Appeal

Removing lichen and moss enhances your home's appearance and curb appeal.

4. Prevent Health Hazards

Moss can harbor allergens, affecting respiratory health. Cleaning your roof promotes a healthier environment.

5. Avoid Costly Repairs

Regular maintenance is cost-effective, preventing extensive damage and expensive repairs.

6. Prevent Pest Infestation

Keeping your roof clean deters insects and pests from infesting your home.

Regular treatment for lichen and moss is a wise investment in the longevity, appearance, and safety of your home.

How Long Does it Take?

Within two months of spraying your roof, we would expect to see a Colour change as the growth dies.  Over the next 6 months (and ongoing) - with the windy weather and the rain, the dead growth will dislodge and wash away.  It will take several months to see noticeable change.
